Astrologers are writing all about it. The most relevant and beneficial aspect for those seeking personal growth is how Mercury, along with other planets, are working together to bring the hidden wounds into awareness. In a nutshell, it is a time for healing!

The retrograde is a phase where a planet appears to backtrack. Metaphorically and energetically, Mercury retrograde is a review phase. The planet rules communication. Are you noticing the pressure to speak up or hide? Depending on where you fall in the spectrum, you can use the current energy mindfully and constructively. Here's how!
Step One: There is no innocent victim when it comes to repeated patterns.
Face the fact that victim consciousness gets you nowhere. Shit happens. People lie. We misunderstand each other. Almost all of us had been through mistreatments. Some of us had been through horrendous abuse and had no control over situations. As an adult, it is up to us to change the narratives, so we don't repeat the cycle. If you are noticing that the particular storyline seems to appear repeatedly, it is a good indication that you may be a part of the problem. During this Mercury retrograde, be gentle, and yet firmly ask a question: "In what way am I contributing to the problem?" We often avoid uncomfortable emotions. We deny and suppress them as if those emotions will destroy us. The result is a blind spot where denial of the truth proliferates and deprives us of the potentials healing. If you don't know how to do that or tolerate the intensity, then it is time to get help. Talk to people you trust. Better yet, seek professional help from a counselor.
Step two: Projection makes perfect persecutors.
What we hold tightly in our hearts manifests outwardly. When we are afraid of being hurt, we end up with people who hurt us the most. How does this work? We are trying to heal the core of ourselves by selecting the people who would do the opposite. Psychologists call this repetition compulsion. We often get trapped in the mode of blaming, accusing, and persecuting. We see all the things we don't want in others and put a blinder on our contribution. As long as we project what we hate, we will manifest in others. That's how the Universe works. Instead, we turn inward and focus on ourselves. We guide ourselves in better feeling thoughts and activities. In other words, focus on self rather than what others' done to us. Incrementally, we will experience better feelings, and eventually, we forgive our past. That's what we call moving on.
Step three: Rescue yourself, not others.
A rescuer is the trickiest of all three. Empathic and kind types often use this tactic. I admit I am one of them. And I have to be diligent about it. Simply put, mind your own business. Take care of yourself. Stop giving people too many slacks. Don't justify bad behaviors. Hold people accountable. Leave situations that hurt you. Most of all, don't get tempted to go back to step one and step two. Falling into the old pattern by playing innocent or blaming people won't solve your problem. By focusing on yourself, and upholding your values and priorities, you will uncover your preciousness behind the vail.
